Core Values What Clients Say
Hello, Fellow Dealers in the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, and the Sunshine Coast,
I had the chance to listen to Roy Prevost at this year’s Fall Market Premarket Conference. The PMC seminars generally are very worthwhile. But usually, when I get back to my store from the market, I cannot implement any of the fantastic ideas I heard at the seminars. This probably happens to most of you too. We just get back to running our stores day to day and before you know it, we are going to the next market.
So for this market, I am not going to let that happen because the speaker Roy Prevost shared something that I believe will turn my store around from a good store to a great store. I am not going to try to explain what the whole seminar was about but the basic premise is to establish a set of “core” values in your store by which you and your staff base every decision on. Whether it be a hiring decision, customer service decision, dealing with returns, dealing with employee tardiness, dealing with vendors, etc. This will transform the way you do business and increase sales.

So, I came back from this market hoping to connect with Roy. I wanted him to do a core value presentation to my staff so that we could develop some of the ideas he presented. We had a meeting over coffee and in the end we concluded that a core value presentation to more stores in one sitting would be the most effective use of time and money. Also the presentation would have better dynamics if everyone was from Home Hardware and we could achieve better result with more people.
If you were at the Premarket Conference and want to sign, you can reply to me or contact Roy.
P.S. If you are wondering, I am definitely not being compensated for doing this. Roy is a great speaker and I want more stores to benefit from his ideas. I hope you can join us.
